Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy explains what the Wedgey app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain words. If anything is unclear, email privacy@wedgey.app.
Who we are
Wedgey is a golf app for beginners. It is run by Anmol Singh in Texas, USA. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means Wedgey. You can reach us at privacy@wedgey.app.
The short version
- We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your My Game shots stay on your phone.
- If you use Wedgey AI, your chats are saved on our server so you can come back to them, and your messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write the replies.
- We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- You can delete everything from inside the app at any time.
What we collect and why
Lessons, Golf 101 and My Game
You can use the lessons, Golf 101 and My Game without an account. Nothing you do there is sent to us.
Your Wedgey AI account
The first time you open the Wedgey AI tab, the app makes an anonymous account for you. It has no name, email or password. It only has an account ID, a random string of letters and numbers. You can see the start of yours in Settings, under "Your data". The app keeps the sign-in on your phone so your chats are there next time.
Your chats
When you chat with your coach, we save:
- the messages you send and the replies you get,
- the title of each chat (the start of your first message, or the name you give it),
- the time each message was sent,
- and, for some replies, the name of the lesson the reply links to.
We save these so you can see your chats again and so your coach can follow the conversation. You can delete a single chat in the app, or delete everything.
Daily limits
To keep Wedgey AI working for everyone, there is a daily limit on coach messages. For this we keep:
- how many coach messages you sent each day,
- your time zone, as your phone reported it the first time you used Wedgey AI, so "today" means your day,
- and your plan type.
Abuse limits and IP addresses
To stop people from flooding the coach, our server counts messages per minute, for each account and for each IP address. These counters hold your account ID or your IP address and a count for that minute. They are only used for these limits, and they are removed within 1 day.
Reports you send
If you press and hold a coach reply and tap "Report this reply", we save your account ID, which chat and reply you reported, the reason you picked (Wrong, Offensive or Other, or none), and the time. We read reports to make the coach better.
Logs from our service providers
Like most online services, our hosting providers keep technical logs, such as IP addresses, times and error details, to keep their systems secure and running. See "Who helps us run Wedgey" below.
What stays on your phone
These are saved only on your phone. We never receive them:
- your coach choice and which hand you swing with,
- your My Game bag and every shot you log (direction, contact and distance),
- whether you finished the first-time setup,
- a copy of your recent chats, so they open fast,
- and your answer to the Wedgey AI notice.
One thing from My Game does leave your phone: when you send a message to Wedgey AI, the app adds a short summary of your My Game stats (see the next section).
Wedgey AI and Anthropic
Wedgey AI is an AI golf coach. To write each reply, our server sends a request to our AI provider, Anthropic. Each request includes:
- the message you just sent,
- recent messages from the same chat (up to the last 12, shortened if they are very long),
- a short summary of your My Game stats per club, like "7i: 140 yds, straight 55%, clean 62%.", if you have logged enough shots,
- and our own instructions: the coach style you picked and parts of the Wedgey lessons.
If you play left handed, the app swaps the words "left" and "right" before sending your messages, and swaps them back in the reply.
We send this to Anthropic only to write the coach reply. We do not send your account ID, your IP address or your time zone.
Anthropic handles this data under its own terms and its privacy policy.
Before your first message, the app shows a notice that explains this. Nothing is sent until you tap "Got it". Please don't share personal details, like your full name, address or health information, in your chats.
Where your data is stored
Your account, chats, daily counts and reports are stored with Supabase in the United States (on Amazon Web Services in Northern Virginia).
Who helps us run Wedgey
- Supabase hosts our database and server code in the United States. It stores your anonymous account, chats, daily counts and reports.
- Anthropic writes the Wedgey AI replies, as described above.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
- Google Fonts serves the font on this website. Your browser asks Google for the font file, so Google sees your IP address. The app itself does not use Google Fonts.
- Apple and Google run the app stores and will handle any payments.
These companies only get what they need to do their job for us.
Payments
Wedgey does not sell anything in the app yet. When we offer paid plans, every purchase will go through Apple's App Store or Google Play. They take the payment. We never see your card number or billing details. We only learn whether you have an active plan.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't use analytics or tracking tools in the app or on this website.
- This website doesn't use cookies.
How long we keep data
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Anonymous account, time zone, chats, daily counts, reports | Until you delete them in the app, or removed automatically after 12 months with no activity |
| Per-minute abuse counters (account ID or IP address) | Removed within 1 day |
| Messages sent to Anthropic | Handled under Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy |
| Hosting providers' logs and backups | As set by their normal schedules, then deleted |
| Everything on your phone | Until you use Delete my data or delete the app |
"No activity" means no chats and no coach messages. If you stop using Wedgey AI for 12 months, we delete your account and everything tied to it automatically. You can also delete it yourself at any time.
How to delete your data
In the app: open Settings (the gear icon), scroll to "Your data", tap "Delete my data", then tap "Delete". This removes your account and everything tied to it from our server, and clears Wedgey's data from your phone.
By email: email privacy@wedgey.app with the subject "Delete my data" and your account ID. To get it, open Settings, go to "Your data" and tap "Your account ID" to copy it. If you no longer have the app, tell us the first message of one of your chats and about when you sent it instead. We handle requests within 30 days.
See the Delete account page for exactly what gets deleted.
Kids
Wedgey is not meant for kids under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If we learn that a child under 13 used Wedgey AI, we will delete their data. If you think that happened, email privacy@wedgey.app.
Your rights
If you live in the United States, depending on your state, you may have the right to:
- know what data we have about you and get a copy,
- correct it,
- delete it,
- and opt out of the sale of your data or targeted ads. We don't do either.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@wedgey.app. We will answer within the time your state's law allows, and we won't treat you differently for asking. If we turn down a request, you can ask us to look at it again by replying to our answer.
Keeping data safe
Data travels between the app and our server over encrypted connections. Our database only lets each account see its own chats and daily counts. Reports can only be read by Wedgey. No system is perfect, but we work to keep your data safe.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is big, we will also let you know in the app.
